Online Specialty Retailer Bows-n-Ties Guides Groomsmen to Their Perfect Wedding Outfit

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 10, 2010

Newly launched retailer Bows-n-Ties.com makes it easier for couples to coordinate their wedding colors. The website features thousands of neck and bow ties that are sorted into 19 popular wedding color categories. As exciting it is to get married planning a wedding gives most couples plenty of head and heartache. From day one on there is pressure that everything has to be perfect -- from the dress to the floral arrangements. To add to the complexity most weddings follow a strict color theme.

"As great as it may seem at first, having everything fit a few specific colors really limits people's choices", says Hendrik Pohl owner and founder of Bows-n-Ties.com. Pohl has been in the necktie business for half a decade, and he has always noticed that couples had a difficult time matching the groomsmen's neckties to the color of the bridesmaids' dresses. Then, just in time for the wedding season 2010, he launched his latest website Bows-N-Ties.com - a website that will make it easy to find the perfect matching necktie or bow tie. By now the site features over a 1,000 different neckties which are sorted into 19 different color families. Also expanding is the selection of extra long ties and kids ties. That way "the entire wedding party, regardless of age, height, and weight can wear the exact same necktie", explains Pohl.

"We noticed that we give customers almost too many choices", says Pohl who points to the company's flexible return policy. "Now, for the first time customers have so many options on mens ties that we have to offer a '60-day no questions asked' return policy. We actually encourage our customers to order as many ties as they like and then return the ones that are not the perfect match," says Pohl.

To ensure that the website always features the most recent color trends, Bows-n-Ties.com attends annual bridal shows, has formed partnerships with several other online bridal retailers, and regularly writes for online wedding blogs as well as participates in wedding forums and message boards. When we asked Pohl about the most popular wedding color he points to a bright orange tie. "In the past few weeks almost 40% of all our sales are for bright orange neckties followed by the colors bright apple green, fuchsia, hot pink, and the common classics such as champagne, ivory, and cream," says Pohl.

Even though ties and bow ties is the websites main focus, customers can also choose from a wide range of handkerchiefs and cuff links. In addition, the site features a growing section with information on how to tie a necktie, how to fold a handkerchief, tying bow ties, dress code advice, and general men's fashion tips and style trends.

Bows-n-Ties.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of San Francisco based company United E-Commerce, LLC. For more information on Bows-n-TIes.com please contact Hendrik Pohl.

Targeting Modes

  • Bow: Provides true horizontal distance from 5 to 99 yards based on angle.
  • Rifle Mode: Select the ballistic group of your firearm (guidelines supplied). When you range your target, an inclinometer displays the angle and provides bullet-drop/holdover in inches (up to 99") from 100 to 600 yards.
  • SCAN: Allows you to pan across the landscape while viewing a continuously updated LCD display of the distances between you and the targets you scan.
  • BullsEye: Geared for close-range use, this mode acquires the distances of small targets and game without inadvertently measuring background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display.

How a Laser Rangefinder Works
Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within ±1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.

Very nice, but major functionality missing, October 19, 2010

I purchased the Scout 1000 and found the performance and quality to be quite good. The ergonomics were wonderful. Overall, I was quite impressed with the product. The supplied case was of poor quality – the latch could easily come undone and the rangefinder lost if you were scrambling through thick brush.

The biggest flaw is that it does not present true horizontal distance or (as they put it) “shoots-like” distance beyond 100 yards. Instead, beyond 100 yards you are required to go through a complex process of entering your rifle’s ballistics category and then the range finder shows you the true distance and an approximate holdover distance. This information might be helpful for novice shooters that simply want to get ‘close enough’, but it is virtually worthless for the many rifle shooters that are using a scope with a B&C, BDC, Ballistic, or similar reticle or turret. With these scopes, you only want to know the true horizontal distance. And that’s all. You then adjust the turret or you hold over to the correct scope reticle marker for that distance.

For example, if the true horizontal distance for a steep uphill shot is 500 yards, you simply place the 500 yard reticle in your scope on the target and shoot (all other things considered). This is MUCH easier and more accurate than guessing a 42.4 inch holdover measurements at 500 yards. With the Scout 1000, because of an inexplicable design decision, you cannot know the true horizontal distance over 100 yards. In this scenario, the Scout will only report true distance of maybe 550 yards – which if used, will result in a miss, or worse, an injured animal. This lack of functionality renders the rangefinder or your expensive rifle scope mostly useless.

I returned this product and opted for the less expensive Nikon RifleHunter 550 which has at least equal performance to the Scout out to the full 550 yards, but more importantly, it provides true horizontal distance at all distances – critical functionality for serious rifle hunters.
